Our history

Our journey

In 1980, our company’s founder Ioannis Athanasiadis brought the first anti-theft system to Greece when he set up ΒΕΤΑ as a dealer for “KNOGO” which had invented a Radio Frequency (RF) anti-theft solution.

1990: SensorBeta’s partnership with the Swedish firm GATEWAY was a milestone in its journey and the subsequent enlargement of the solutions offered. It allowed the company to offer a large range of reliable systems that included all technologies then available (i.e. RF–AM–EM).

1997: A few years later, the company acquired and merged with the SENSORMATIC dealership, a leading company in AM acoustomagnetic technology systems. It did so to enable it to carry out demanding projects and keep pace with technological advancements in the sector. ΒΕΤΑ was renamed to SensorBeta.

From 2002 onwards, SensorBeta’s long lasting partnerships with the largest networks of stores forced it to expanding its activities into surveillance, alarm and fire detection solutions, with the aim to provide stores with a complete security package.

In 2005, as Shopguard’s exclusive distributor the company launched partnerships with the largest electronics networks, providing them with leading live wall for electronics.

2007: Given advancements in technology and the growing needs of businesses to analyse results and increase sales, SensorBeta moved into designing and implementing complete people counting projects, as the exclusive distributor of Solva Electronics, using materials from leading suppliers worldwide (3D/WiFi/Demographic).

The company’s story proves its desire to always remain current and flexible, with the aim of evolving and upgrading both itself and the solutions offered to its customers.

Building on these solid foundations, today SensorBeta launches a new era. It prioritises innovation:

1.As the exclusive dealer of Norwegian Group StrongPoint and CashGuard (a Cash Management System solution), it aims to change the status quo in the market and improve the everyday life of store owners and the consumer experience itself.

2.Using complete RFID solutions for retail stores, it is now possible to manage a store’s inventory and products with the use of wireless technology, ensuring rapid processing and increased sales.
